I was inspired to create a personal finance education blog after many years of working in the financial services industry and secondary education.  My financial services experience includes fifteen years as a Financial Advisor for major companies like JP Morgan Chase and TIAA.  In education, I taught high school personal financial literacy courses and facilitated teacher professional developments statewide.  I also advocate for personal financial literacy for all high school students nationally as a Fellow with NextGen Personal Finance (NGPF).

I dreamed of increasing the financial literacy of low-income and working families.   Growing up in a working-class household in Louisiana, the only conversations I heard about money were there was never enough of it.  Working in the financial services industry showed me that my experience was not unique.  It is my desire to share what I have learned during my personal journey from living paycheck to paycheck and to inspire financial conversations in more minority households.

As a Branch-Out Financial Subscriber, you will receive information on budgeting, debt management, investing, and personal financial education.  Together we can learn new concepts, share experiences, and practice new strategies as we take our finances in a new direction.
